AMD's upcoming Bulldozer architecture is scheduled although for the second quarter of 2011, but there was this indeed the first information and details. Based on these processors are based on the architecture, not to the socket AM3 backwards compatible, but should be able to use older AM3 CPUs on the new AM3 socket +. It would therefore be logical that the new base would be equipped with a new chipset, which is very often the case. MSI is but, interestingly, when 890FXA-GD65 motherboard on the website as the base from AM3, but on the PCB clearly the imprint "AM3 & CPU Support"is printed.
This suggests that the AMD RD890 + SB850 chipset + AM3 compatible and likely to assist the said new base already. The MSI-GD65 890FXA Main Board should therefore support new processors and it seems likely that there will be, this is bulldozer models. While it is still appropriate to the bulldozer-launch 990FX chipset give that differs little in the current situation, however, a new South Bridge will get. At AMD, in contrast to Intel, not some weird tangle with many sockets and chipsets to be found and the backward compatibility and consistency has been maintained as well. Thus, the new notes are quite positive.
Appropriate inquiries on the subject at MSI and AMD remain as yet unanswered. We will keep you on the progress of this issue to date.
