Directly from Sunnyvale, California we received today the news that a new version of AMD's own software development kit - published for the graphics cards and processors fusion - in short SDK. The previously "ATI Stream SDK" had now caused by the separation of the label ATI, however, yield to the "AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing SDK", which up to its predecessor, but in any way.
Similar to the Nvidia CUDA technology, the AMD APP serves primarily to make programmers the unused computing power of graphics cores available, thereby accelerating their applications. Primary turns, most recently because of all the fusion APUs from the E and C lines, which harbor multiple x86 cores and a DX11 graphics core on one die.
But alongside the support for the Radeon HD 6900 graphics card and the HD 6310 / HD 6250 graphics units of the merger and APUs OpenCL 1.1, are of course other innovations:
- Improved Runtime Performance OpenCL
- Support for UVD hardware video by OpenCL (Windows 7)
- Support for OpenCL math libraries: FFT and BLAS-3
- AMD APP Profiler 2.1 and 7.1 kernel analyzer

The new AMD APP SDK 2.3 is available for Windows XP SP2, Windows 7 and Linux (openSUSE 11.3, Ubuntu 9.10/10.04, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4/5.5), respectively in the 32 - and 64-bit related to Ausführung.Die Downloads here.
Anyone interested in knowing or doing so has also professionally, which should be 13 - 16 June in the calendar to paint red. There, that is taking place, the AMD Fusion Developer Summit in Bellevue, Washington. Certainly there are few which may be present, but it will certainly also be streamed.
