Gigabyte GA-M52LT-D3: Cheap AM3 board with old chipset

Sometimes you wonder yet how different the Strategies for professional of individual companies. While Company A (by the way ASRock is meant) a new motherboard for an old base with a new chipset designs, builds company B (in the case gigabytes) a motherboard based on the current Socket AM3 with a now declared dead chipset.

The new Gigabyte GA-M52LT-D3 supports all current AMD Athlon and Phenom processors - yes, the Phenom II X6 Hexa cores. However, the HyperTransport bus is limited by the old chipset and works only with 2000 MT / s instead of 5200 MT / s. The question of how much does it affect the CPU performance, it is however still debated today.

The advantage of the AMD is on the CPU integrated memory controller that you can use nForce 520LE chipset despite the current DDR3 memory, with 1066, 1333 and 1666 + MHz. The board also found 1x PCIe x16, 2 PCIe x1 and 4 PCI slots. Connecting to other devices there are 2 x SATA 3Gb / s, one IDE and one floppy connector.

On the bracket there are 2x PS / 2 ports, 4x USB 2.0, one parallel and one serial interface, 7.1 Sound, 10/100 LAN, and an RCA output.

Other features include the 3 +1 phase power supply, DualBIOS, the technology and 3x USB Power On / Off Charge technology, which mobile phone and MP3 player can be charged even if the PC via USB.
